Religious Perspectives Explored by a Non-Religious Scholar

Some ignorant people are making fun of the religious scholar, Mufti Munir Shakir, claiming that he will not announce any discounts during Ramadan or Taraweeh. From their words, it is evident that these confused individuals are against the order of God, and fasting for one month is challenging for them. Consequently, they resort to writing senseless comments, effectively mocking religion.

Anyone who expects a discount on fasting from a human being in the form of a clown is, in essence, opposing God's command and seeking mockery rather than sincerity. It is preferable to engage in worship that genuinely enriches one's spiritual journey rather than perform it out of habit.

In the 800-year history of Pashtoons, one cannot find a religious scholar like Mufti Munir Shakir. Mufti Munir Shakir, as a religious scholar and sociologist of Pashtun society, possesses a unique style of logic. He elucidates the philosophy and essence of religion in simple Pashto language for the common people—a style that is rare to find.

Mufti Shakir appears to hold a greater influence within the Pashtoon community compared to Karzawi, who lacks understanding of Pashtun sociology.

In an environment where the Pashtoon community is dominated by ignorance under the guise of religious authority, and Pashtoons' ignorance perpetuates this dominance, one wonders how long this cycle will persist. Amidst such darkness and ignorance, Mufti Shakir shines as a guiding star while others merely hold the status of candles.

Unfortunately, many of our educated individuals ridicule us. It is perplexing why these individuals lack awareness. Just because Mufti Shakir uses humor to simplify complex issues for the common people or does not employ high literary language, it does not warrant ridicule. Common people do not resonate with scholarly language; hence, Mufti Shakir utilizes common language for their comprehension. However, evaluating his worth based on simplistic literature is unjust.

I am unaware of anyone else within the Pashtoon community who possesses the ability to easily engage the common Pashtoon populace in discussions about religion using fluent Pashto language.

I believe that a philosophical movement or school cannot illuminate the dark thoughts of Pashtoons as effectively as Mufti Shakir can.

Currently, millions of Pashtuns adhere to Mulla Haibatullah, participating in Friday prayers where Mulla Haibatullah's name is invoked as the leader of Muslims. However, no one questions why Mulla Haibatullah does not perform Hajj, despite having the economic means to do so. Hajj is obligatory upon every Muslim, and failure to perform it renders one a disbeliever. Why, then, do so many people adhere to a disbeliever?
